NRCS Conservation Programs to help people help the land
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is the lead federal agency that works with landowners on private lands to conserve Natural Resources. NRCS is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Most of our technical assistance and programs provided by the agency goes to helping farmers develop conservation systems uniquiely suited to their land. NRCS works one-on-one with private landowners to develop and implement conservation plans which protect the soil, water, air, plant and animal resources.
During this presentation, Greg Igl, District Conservationist for Walworth County will explain how NRCS can assist landownerswith information about soils, conservation planning, and various conservation programs. USDA offers voluntary conservation programs for all kinds of land, natural resources, and people. We provide conservation programs to help reduce erosion; guard streams, lakes and welands; restore and establish wildlife habitat including wetlands; improve air quality and conserve energy.
