Karenel Art

My mission is to create innovative, high quality, contemporary folk art in collage, assemblies, and fiber from rescued, recycled industrial materials.  I am inspired to sell my work at galleries with collections, to collectors, and an informed public.

The materials I've rescued include adhesive backed lables, poster board, cardboard, old frames, jars, foundry molds, and other interesting rejected parts.  I give these items a second life.  My art appeals to a wide audience of discerning people. I use unexpected, vibrant colors in stimulating and thought provoking compositions.

My work has a whimsical, fantastic look with animals and birds in oriental type landscapes.  I am an intuitive artist; who does not work from sketches or photographs.  Pieces just seem to "belong" and there isn't any way I can explain why that is so.
